
Wisconsin extinguishes UIC for fourth-straight win

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Wisconsin women's basketball team (5–1, 0–0 B1G) earned a strong 74–53 road win over UIC (1–3, 0–0 MVC) on Wednesday night, extending its win streak to four straight.
Lily Krahn led the way with a career-high 25 points, knocking down a career-best seven three-pointers and shooting 9-for-14 from the field. She scored 11 of Wisconsin's 22 points in the second quarter.
Kyrah Daniels delivered another complete performance, finishing with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals while shooting 6-for-14 and 3-for-6 from three.
How it happened
Wisconsin opened the game slowly, shooting just 5-for-15 from the field while UIC controlled the paint early. Daniels kept the Badgers in it with 11 points on 4-for-5 shooting, including three early threes. Shay Bollin added a three off the bench to spark momentum, but Wisconsin trailed 17–14 after the first.
The Badgers took control in the second quarter, outscoring UIC 22–11 and shooting 47% from the field. Wisconsin knocked down four threes in the period and held UIC to 33% shooting. Krahn came alive with 11 points, hitting three triples and sparking a 10–0 run that pushed the Badgers in front. Ronnie Porter added two late free throws, and Jovana Spasovski contributed four points and five rebounds in one of her best stretches of the night. Wisconsin entered the half up 36–28.
Wisconsin continued strong into the third quarter, extending its lead with a 16–10 advantage. Breauna Ware delivered eight of her nine points in the period, shooting 3-for-4. Daniels continued to facilitate with four assists in the frame, bringing her total to eight. Dorja Zaja and Spasovski added interior scoring and defensive stops, combining for three rebounds and providing steady rim protection.
The Badgers closed the door in the fourth with another 22-point quarter, shooting 47% from the floor. Wisconsin reached its largest lead of the night, 26 points, with just over five minutes remaining. The Badgers knocked down four more threes and kept UIC off the free-throw line entirely. Wisconsin finished strong to secure the 74–53 win.
The Badgers shot 44.4% (28–63) from the field, 48.1% (13–27) from three, and 71.4% (5–7) at the line. The 13 made threes are tied for the second-best single-game performance in program history. Defensively, Wisconsin held UIC to 38.6% shooting (22–57) and just three made threes.
