Colyer and Booth drafted to Major League Volleyball
MADISON, Wis. – Mimi Colyer and Carter Booth of the Wisconsin volleyball team were drafted by the Dallas Pulse of the inaugural season of Major League Volleyball, announced Monday. Colyer was drafted No. 1 overall, while Booth was drafted as the 19th overall pick.
Senior Mimi Colyer has had a prolific 2025 season for the Wisconsin Badgers so far. Through 26 matches this season, Colyer has averaged 5.37 kills per set, 5.97 points per set, 2.13 digs per set, and has chipped in with 0.70 blocks per set. The three-time All-American has tallied double-figure kills in every match but one, and nine matches of 20 or more kills in 2025. Colyer has also garnered four Big Ten Player of the Week awards and AVCA Player of the Week her senior season.
Recently, Colyer surpassed Badger great Sarah Franklin for the most kills (308) in a conference season with 312 with two Big Ten matches remaining. She has also eclipsed five-time All-American Dana Rettke (12) for consecutive matches with double-figure kills set in 2018. Colyer is currently at 13 consecutive matches with double-figure kills. The California native is on pace to break numerous other single-season program records once the season wraps.
Fellow senior Carter Booth is having one of the best seasons of her collegiate career. The three-time All-Big Ten honoree is hitting a team-best .429, averaging 1.96 kills per set, 2.67 points per set and 2.67 blocks per set. This season, Booth achieved 500 career blocks on Sept. 21 against Florida. Against Michigan St. this season, Booth tied her own program record for most blocks in a three-set match with 10 blocks against the Spartans.
Booth is a career .385 hitter, has totaled 744 kills, and 577 career blocks. In 2023, her 186.0 blocks set a program record for most blocks in a single season. For honors, Booth has been named AVCA Third Team All-American in 2023 and is a three-time AVCA All-Region honoree.
Colyer and Booth become the 40th and 41st Badgers in program history to play professional volleyball.
