Harvey collects HCA Defender of the Month honor

Badger captain's second consecutive national recognition
MADISON, Wis - Wisconsin women's hockey captain Caroline Harvey was named Defender of the Month by the Hockey Commissioners Association for the second consecutive time this season, the association announced on Thursday.Â
The Hockey Comissioners Association recognizes players from every Division I women's hockey program, Harvey was the organization's recipient for the month of October as well. In addition to the HCA Monthly honor, Harvey was also recently announced as WCHA Defender of the Month on Wednesday and WCHA Defender of the Week on Monday.
The Badger captain had an eventful November, recording four goals, and 16 assists, all while leading UW to a 6-0-1 record in the month. In the Badgers' recent game against Mercyhurst on Nov. 29, Harvey achieved 168 career points, surpassing Ronda Curtin as the WCHA's all-time defensive point scorer. Earlier on Nov. 14, Harvey scored her 43rd career goal to dethrone Sis Paulsen as the Badger's all-time defensive goal scorer. Harvey's 20 points and 16 assists in the month were the most of any women's hockey player in the country.
The New Hampshire native leads all D1 women's hockey players with 37 points and 28 assists.
During the 2024-25 season, Harvey was the WCHA Defender of the Year, an HCA First-Team All-American and Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award Top-3 Finalist.
This weekend, Harvey plays with the Badgers to face No. 2 Ohio State on Friday and Saturday Dec. 5 and 6.Â
Following the Ohio State series, Harvey will play alongside Badgers Lacey Eden, Laila Edwards, Ava McNaughton, Kirsten Simms, Hilary Knight, Britta Curl-Salemme, Jesse Compher, Casey O'Brien and Anna Wilgren in the Team USA Rivalry series. Team USA will face Team Canada on December 10 and 13 in Edmonton.Â
