Risser climbs record book as Casey and Hilby deliver top-six mile finishes in Boston
BOSTON – The Wisconsin men's track and field trio of Henry Risser, Andrew Casey and Patrick Hilby made history in Boston at the BU Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Saturday.
Risser set the tone in the first heat of the 600 meters, winning the event in 1 minute, 17.09 seconds. The true freshman wasted no time climbing the record books, moving up to No. 2 all time in the UW indoor ranks.
In the mile, Andrew Casey led the way for the Badgers with a strong showing, clocking 4:00.37 to finish third overall in the deep field. Patrick Hilby followed close behind, running 4:01.53 for sixth, giving Wisconsin two top-six finishes to start the season. Both those marks were PR's.
Up Next: The Badgers will ring in the New Year hosting the Wisconsin Midwest Invitational at Gately Stadium in Chicago on January 10, 2026.
