Junior totals five points in sweep at Notre Dame
MADISON, Wis. – A three-goal, five-point performance from Quinn Finley in Wisconsin's sweep at Notre Dame on Dec. 5-6 earned him a Big Ten Third Star of the Week nod, the Conference announced on Tuesday.
Junior forward Finley opened the weekend with a two-goal, three-point night in Friday's 7-4 win at Notre Dame. He kick-started Wisconsin's second-period comeback with a breakaway goal 31 seconds into the period to cut Notre Dame's 2-0 lead in half.

The junior also scored an empty-net goal late in the third period to seal UW's victory, before adding an assist on senior forward Simon Tassy's empty-netter with 30 seconds left in the game to earn the 17th multi-point night of his career and fourth of the season.

On Saturday, Finley opened the scoring again, 3:37 into the first period, to spark Wisconsin's four-goal first period – its second four-goal period of the weekend. He also notched a primary assist on senior defenseman Aiden Dubinsky's second-period goal to total five points in two games.

Through 16 games, the Suamico, Wisconsin, native has eight goals and 16 points, sitting second on the roster in scoring and tied for second in goals.
This marks Finley's third career Big Ten weekly honor and Wisconsin's sixth of the 2025-26 season. Freshman forward Blake Montgomery and senior forward Ben Dexheimer were the Badgers' most recent stars of the week, earning second and third star nods, respectively, on Nov. 25.
After a break for finals and the holidays, the Badgers return to action with the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off on Sunday and Monday, Dec. 28-29, at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. UW will face Lake Superior State on Sunday, and either defending NCAA champion and seventh-ranked Western Michigan or No. 13 Boston College on Monday, depending on semifinal results.
