NORMAL, Ill. - The throwers from the Wisconsin track and field program earned four first-place finishes at the Redbird Tune-up, highlighted by noteworthy performances turned in by Joseph White in both the weight throw and shot put.

White was the standout on Friday night, as the Kenosha native finished in first place with a heave of 76 feet, 6 ½ inches (23.33m) to advance to No. 2 all-time in UW Indoor Track history for farthest throw. White rose to No. 2 in the Big Ten with the mark, and No. 8 in the nation ahead of next week's Big Ten Indoor Championships.

The senior followed it up with another top-10 performance this time en route to a victory in the shot put. White tallied a toss of 64-3 ¼ (19.59m), which slotted him at No. 4 all-time in his first season as a Badger. He emerged as the new No. 2 in the Big Ten in a second separate event, in addition to being ranked No. 6 in the nation.

Chikere Oduocha got her name on the national scale, rising to No. 21 with the help of a toss of 70-1 (21.36m), a new personal best. She came in a close second place, right behind her teammate in Taylor Kesner, who won with a heave of 70-2 ¼ (21.39m)

Zonica Lindeque accounted for the fourth and final first-place finish at the meet, as she took first in the women's shot put. Lindeque finished with a heave of 51-0 (15.54m), and was followed closely by both Danni Langseth and Hadley Lucas, who came in second and third, respectively.

Up Next: An assortment of Badgers are on the road in South Bend, Indiana for the Alex Wilson Invite, hosted by Notre Dame. The meet gets underway at 10:00 a.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 22. A week later, Wisconsin will be at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis for the Big Ten Indoor Championships, set to take place on Friday, Feb. 28 and Saturday, March 1.
