
Bacon named All-American in the 200 IM

The fifth-year earns a new personal best
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The Wisconsin women's swim team finished day two of the NCAA Championships as Phoebe Bacon was named a first-team All-American in the 200 IM.
Bacon earned first-team All-American honors with a fourth-place finish and a personal best in the 200 IM with a time of 1:51.98. Bacon placed sixth in prelims earlier in the day, while Callahan Dunn finished in 26th with a time of 1:56.33.
Bacon was the only Badger to advance to finals in her event on Thursday, as Abby Carlson finished 35th in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:41.42. Hailey Tierney finished 19th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.91.
The 200 free relay team of Hailey Tierney, Abby Wanezek, Phoebe Bacon and Abby Calrson finished with All-Amercian Honorable Mention honors with a 13th-place finish in a time of 1:27.43.
Competition resumes on Friday with the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and the 400 medley relay. Prelims begin at 12 p.m. (CT) and finals start at 8 p.m. (CT).
