MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's tennis team took down Purdue in a decisive 4-1 victory. The Badgers won the double point, and never gave up the lead en route to their third conference win of the season. Wisconsin saw singles victories at the No.1, No. 3, and No. 6 slots.

The Badgers upped the energy at Nielsen with an electrifying doubles performance. The partnership of Michael Minasyan and Patrik Meszaros dominated in the No. 2 slot, winning their contest 6-2. At No. 1, sophomores Oliver Olsson and Tomas Zlatohlavek got their 5th conference win with a 7-5 victory over Purdue's Aleksa Krivokapic and Juan David Velasquez. The victories at No. 1 and No. 2 gave Wisconsin the 1-0 lead heading into singles play. 

Freshman Sachiv Kumar gave Wisconsin its second team point with a straight set victory over Purdue's Daniel Labrador in the No. 6 slot. 

Freshman Edouard Aubert claimed his first victory at No. 3 singles in straight set fashion, this was just his second time playing in the higher slot. Aubert is now 5-2 in conference play and 10-3 overall on the season. He is the first Badger to hit the 10-win mark in singles play this spring. 

Junior Michael Minasyan clinched the match with a straight set victory against Purdue's Juan David Velasquez.  

Wisconsin is now 3-5 in Big Ten play and 9-7 overall. 

Up Next: Wisconsin will travel to the west coast next weekend to face No. 58 Oregon and No. 47 Washington. The Badgers will take on the Ducks at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 4th in Eugene, Oregon.
