Harvey earned her second-straight Defender of the Year honor. Johnson earned his 10th WCHA Coach of the Year award.
Badgers co-captain O'Brien posted an historic season for the Badgers where she set several school records. The Milton, Massachusetts, native, set the school record for both career points with 265 and career assists with 170. The forward also set the school mark for assists in a season with 55 and counting. Her five-point period on Feb. 1, 2025, against Bemidji State was the most of any Badger in a period in school history.
This season, O'Brien leads the nation and conference with 79 points and 55 assists. The senior ranks fourth in the WCHA with 24 goals. O'Brien has the second-highest shot percentage in the conference and the highest shot percentage of any WCHA player who's recorded at least 100 shots. Her faceoff percentage of .628 is fourth best in the conference and plus/minus of +58 is third best.
Harvey put together an historic season for a Wisconsin blueliner. The defender notched 55 points so far on 15 goals and 40 assists. That's not only the most points of a defender in a season in school history, but also leads the NCAA with a 10-point margin over the next-best defender. Harvey's 40 assists are the most in the WCHA and country from a blueliner and rank third overall in the NCAA, behind only Simms and O'Brien. The co-captain's 15 goals also lead all of the nation's blueliners.
In the defensive zone, Harvey leads a rock-solid Wisconsin defensive corps. The Badgers held opponents to an NCAA-best 1.06 goals per game. On the penalty kill, Harvey helped the defense post a nation-leading 0.923 penalty killing percentage. The Salem, New Hampshire, native would also shines on the power play, leading conference defenders with six power-play goals. Harvey's plus/minus of +72 led the conference.
Johnson earned his 10th WCHA Coach of the Year honor, most recently winning the award back in 2021. Johnson joined Wisconsin as head coach at the beginning of the 2002-03 season and since has become the winningest coach in school history, but also the winningest coach in NCAA collegiate women's hockey history. Johnson added 33 wins so far this season for a total record of 662-120-55 as head coach of the Badgers.
This season, Johnson has coached the Badgers to a nation's best scoring offense (5.56), scoring margin (4.50), scoring defense (1.06), power-play percentage (0.372), penalty-killing percentage (0.923) and team goals against average (1.049), among several other stats and individual Badgers leading the nation.
Johnson led Wisconsin this year to its 10th WCHA regular-season championship, the most of any coach in league history.
The Badgers continue postseason action against Minnesota Duluth on Friday afternoon at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minnesota. Puck drop is set for 1 p.m.
