Badgers complete two days of competition in California

Kruse, Jacobson and Cutforth notch personal bests

AZUSA, Calif. - The Wisconsin women's track and field distance program wrapped up its first two days of competition at the annual Bryan Clay Invitational with a couple of personal bests en route to a quality showing in California.

Emma Kruse kicked things off on Friday in the 800 meters, turning in a personal best time of 2 minutes, 9.34 seconds to take 73rd overall.

Bella Jacobsen provided more of the same in the 5000 meters, as the Menomonie native covered the distance in 16:13.47—slicing off over a second from her PR from last outdoor season.

Annika Cutforth competed in her first-ever outdoor 5000 meters at the collegiate level, finishing the race in 16:29.74, good for 11th place in her heat.

On Wednesday night, Shea Ruhly ran a steady race and took 12th in the 10000 meters with a time of 33:31.11—inching closer to her career best in her final season as a Badger.

Up Next: The Badgers will wrap up their road trip in California by competing on the final day of the Bryan Clay Invitational. Runners are set to begin racing at 7:00 p.m. CT.
