
Six former Badgers to represent Canada at 2025 IIHF Women’s World Championship

Badgers to hit the world stage in Ceske Budejovice, Czechia, in April
MADISON, Wis. – Six former members of the Wisconsin women's hockey team were selected to represent Team Canada at the at 2025 IIHF Women's World Championship which will take place April 9-20 in Ceske Budejovice, Czechia.
The former Badgers set to represent Canada are goaltenders Kristen Campbell and Ann-Renée Desbiens and forwards Emily Clark, Sarah Nurse, Blayre Turnbull and Daryl Watts.
None of the six are strangers to the national stage, having represented their nation at some level of national play before. Five — Campbell, Desbiens, Clark, Nurse, and Turnbull — have appeared in previous World Championships and Olympics games. Watts is making her World Championship debut for her nation after previously representing Canada at the U-18 level.
The tournament will take place on April 9-20, although Team Canada's play will start on Thursday, April 10 at noon CT as Canada faces Finland.

Quarterfinal games will take place on Thursday, April 17, followed by semifinals on Saturday, April 19. The medal matches will be played on Sunday, April 20.
