UW takes the series, but falls 10-4 in game three
MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin softball team (30-17, 10-9) dropped its series finale against Minnesota, 10-4. The Badgers won the first two games of the series before falling in game three on Monday.
Wisconsin fell behind early after giving up five runs in the top of the third. Minnesota brought home one runner off a fielder's choice, before going yard with the bases loaded to make it 5-0.Â
The Badgers never managed to cut the deficit past three runs. Alivia Bark and Kendra Lewis each singled in the bottom of the third to make it 5-2, before Minnesota answered back with two runs in the next frame.
Bark ended up being responsible for three of Wisconsin's four total runs, knocking a two-run jack in the bottom of the fifth. Minnesota shut the door after that, however, pushing across three runs in the top of the sixth to seal the final 10-4 score.
UW struggled to find strikes on the mound, giving up five walks. Starter Gabi Salo (13-9) took the loss giving up five earned runs in 4.0 innings. Shelby Jacobson, Jordan Felci, and Molly Jacobson each made appearances in the game as well.
