The No.13 Badgers take on Georgetown, Dartmouth and Boston University
MADISON, Wis. - The No.13 Wisconsin men's rowing team will compete in the Lake Morey Invite this weekend in Fairlee, Vermont.
1. WHAT TO KNOW -- The Badgers will row to the East Coast to take on No. 6 Dartmouth, No. 12 Boston University and fellow 13th-ranked Georgetown. Wisconsin is sending its three varsity eight boats to Vermont to compete.
2. WHERE THEY LEFT OFF -- The Badgers attended the Stanford/Cal Invite in Redwood Shores, California, to compete against Oregon State, California and Stanford. The Badgers fell short to No. 5 Stanford and No. 1 Cal on the first day of races. On the second day, the varsity eight boat came out on top, defeating the 21st-ranked Beavers with a time of 5:48.7 over 2000 meters for a victory by more than 10 seconds. Wisconsin's second varsity eight boat triumphed as well, finishing first in 5:57.3 by 3.5 seconds. The third varsity eight boat fell short, finishing with a time of 6:03.5 to Oregon State's 5:59.7.
3. BADGERS HONORED -- Will Klipstine was awarded the title of Student Athlete of the Year at Wisconsin Athletics' annual Buckinghams earlier this week.
4. WHERE TO NEXT -- The Badgers head to Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts, for the Eastern Sprints regatta on May 18. The events serves as UW's conference championships.
