FAIRLEE, Vt. – The No.13 Badgers took on Boston University, Dartmouth and Georgetown during the first day of the Lake Morey Invite on Saturday, April 26.
The varsity eight boat came out on top against No.12 Boston University in the morning race. They finished the 2000-meter course in 5:44.8 to claim the Jablonic Cup for the first time since 2012.
The Badgers fell short in the next two races. The second varsity eight boat ended with a time of 5:56:0 to Boston University's 5:54.3. The third varsity eight boat earned a second-place spot with a time of 6:02.4, falling right in between Boston University and Georgetown.Â
During the afternoon races, Wisconsin was unable to overcome sixth-ranked Dartmouth. It was a battle during the varsity eight race, but the Badgers ended with a time of 5:47.5 to Dartmouth's 5:43.7. The second varsity eight boat clocked in with 5:58.1, and the third varsity eight with 6:03.1
Up next: The Badgers will return to the water tomorrow to face Boston University and Dartmouth again on Sunday, April 27.
