INDIANAPOLIS - The Wisconsin women's rowing team finished the 2025 Big Ten Rowing Championships with an 11th-place team finish on Sunday on Eagle Creek Lake.

All seven Badger boats competed in the petite final races. UW's third varsity four crew led the way, finishing in second place behind Minnesota in the petite final to come in eighth place overall in the event.

The varsity eight also finished top three in its petite final with a time of 6:28.862, less than a second behind Minnesota in second place, who had a time of 6:28.023. The varsity eight shaved an impressive 16 seconds off of their time from Saturday after it finished its semifinal heat with a time of 6:45.044.

Other boats increased their speed from Saturday's heats to Sunday's finals, with the varsity four finishing its final in 7:32.972, almost 19 seconds faster than its Saturday time of 7:51.623. The second varsity four improved its time from 8:23.922 on Saturday to 7:53.622, a 30-second difference, while the third varsity four improved from 8:09.235 to 7:40.172 in the finals.

The third varsity eight and fourth varsity eight also saw massive improvements between the two days. The 3V8 finished with a time of 6:59.222 on Sunday after finishing its Saturday heat with a time of 7:26.278 – 27 seconds of improvement. The 4V8 shaved off 34 seconds from its time between the two days, finishing with a time of 7:10.201 on Sunday, compared to 7:44.815 on Saturday.

Overall, Washington captured the team title and the automatic NCAA championships bid with 264 points after winning first place in all seven grand final races. The Badgers placed 11th with 53 team points.

In addition, three Badgers were honored by the Big Ten. Junior Sophia Gruenling earned 2025 First Team All-Big Ten honors, while senior Kylie Magnus earned second-team honors. Senior Macy Mosner was also named UW's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner for the second year in a row.
