EUGENE, Ore. – The Wisconsin women's track and field trio of
Chloe Lindeman,
Emma Kelley and
Taylor Kesner made their outdoor NCAA debuts on Thursday at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field.
Lindeman led the way with an eighth-place finish in the hammer throw that resulted in first-team All-America honors. Kelley posted honorable-mention All-America honors in the 800 meters while Kesner received honorable mention All-America accolades in the javelin.
Lindeman earns fourth All-America honor
In her NCAA outdoor championships debut, Lindeman claimed first-team All-America honors thanks to an eighth-place showing in the hammer throw.
The Fulton, Illinois native threw the hammer 222 feet, 6 inches (67.82 meters), just shy of her school record of 222-9 (67.89m) set earlier this year at the Badger Challenge.
"It is just awesome to finish my Badger career with first-team All America honors," Lindeman said. "This was my first time at outdoor nationals, been to regionals several times but always sort of missed the mark. It's amazing to have been able to come to this and move up four spots which was another huge thing for me and then also just compete with one of my best series of the semester, year, everything. I'm really proud to represent the Badgers one last time. "
Lindeman leaves Wisconsin as the school's record holder in the hammer throw and indoor weight throw. She earned four All-America honors while donning the Cardinal and White and also won a Big Ten title in the weight throw in 2022.
"Wisconsin was always my dream school," Lindeman said. "In eighth grade, it was the school that I went to for a basketball camp but then I made a vow that I would go there and compete in the sport of my choice. It was just awesome. I still have that list of goals at my moms house and the very first one on there is to attend a DI school in the sport of my choice.
"The past six years with Dave have been amazing. I know he hates in interviews when we thank him, but I have to attribute a majority of my success to Coach and having amazing teammates and an amazing program around me."
Kelley wraps up collegiate career
Kelley capped off her season qualifying in the 800 meters for the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships where she finished sixth in her section and 18th overall with a time of 2 minutes, 4.40 seconds.
In her lone year with the Badgers, Kelly made an immediate and lasting impact on the program.
At the NCAA West First Round she ran a personal-best 2:01.87 which ranks No. 3 all-time in school history and was the fastest time by a Badger in more than 30 years. The St. Louis, Missouri native etched her name into the top 10 of UW's all-time list in five different events, from the 400 meters to the 4x1500 relay.
Prior to her time at Wisconsin, Kelley was a six-time NCAA champion at Washington University.
Kesner opens NCAA championships with honorable-mention accolades
In her first of two events this weekend, Kesner finished 22nd in the javelin with a mark of 155-7 (47.43m) to collect honorable mention All-America honors.
It marks the second time this year that the Highland, Illinois, native has earned All-America accolades as she earned first-team All-America honors in the indoor weight throw thanks to her victory in the event.
Kesner had the No. 2 throw in school history two weeks ago of 171-10 (52.39m) at the 2025 NCAA West First Round.
Up Next: Adam Spencer will be the lone Badger in action on Friday at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships as the Olympian will compete in the finals of the men's 1500 meters at 7:12 CT. Fans can watch the race live on ESPN2.
Kesner will wrap up UW's time in Eugene as she will compete in the women's discus on Saturday at 2:30 p.m CT. Fans can view her competition on ESPN+.
