Colyer Named AVCA National Player of the Week

Three-time All-American collects another national award
MADISON, Wis. – Mimi Colyer of the Wisconsin volleyball team has been named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I Women's Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by the AVCA.
Recently named Big Ten Player of the Week, Colyer picked up another national honor after helping the Badgers go 2-0 last week with sweeps over Milwaukee and No. 21 Georgia Tech. In just six sets, Colyer averaged 5.83 kills per set and an average of 6.25 points per set, while hitting .582 (35-3-55). Through six matches, Colyer has collected double-digit kills in each match.
Colyer is just the second player in Division I women's volleyball to earn AVCA Division I Player of the Week with two different schools. Colyer previously earned the award at Oregon on October 19, 2024. Skylar Fields of USC and Texas collected the award at Texas in 2021 and twice at USC in 2022 and 2023. In the Wisconsin record book, the 6-foot-3 outside hitter is just the eighth player in program history to earn the national recognition. Sarah Franklin last earned it for UW on November 28, 2023.
