MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin men's soccer team was bested by the Washington Huskies at McClimon Soccer Complex Friday evening. The Huskies (5-3-2, 2-1-0 B1G) scored twice in the second half to beat the Badgers (2-5-0, 0-3-0 B1G).
How It Happened:
Both teams traded scoring opportunities in the first half, but failed to find the back of the net, resulting in a 0-0 tie heading into the break.
Washington came out of the gate hot and Husky senior Richie Aman found the back of the net in the 50th minute. Nick O'Brien and Alex Hall were credited with assists.
While the shots on goal column sat at zero for the Badgers, they had opportunity. Freshman Isaac Brown-Samper beat two defenders in the 61st minute, but Thomas Raimbault's ensuing shot went just wide.
Wisconsin came within inches of evening the score with just under 10 minutes to go in the match. Jones' redirecting header to Banks wound up underneath the Washington keeper on the goal line.
The Huskies put the game away with a goal from Zach Ramsey in the 88th minute.
