The Badgers travel east to face the Golden Eagles

MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin men's soccer team (2-2-0) will hit the road for the first time this season to face the Marquette Golden Eagles (2-0-2) on Saturday. The match will take place at Valley Fields, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. CT.

Here are five things to know about the match.

1 – HOLIDAY WEEKEND  – Wisconsin's men's soccer team played two games over the holiday weekend, moving to a 2-2-0 record on the season. The Badgers found success Friday night against a Western Michigan team that made a NCAA postseason run in 2024. The teams were evenly matched, but Bart Muns was able to find the back of the net, securing a 1-0 victory for UW. On Labor Day, the Badgers missed on a handful of opportunities, resulting in a 1-0 loss to now No. 24 Portland at McClimon Soccer Complex.

2 – DEFENSE ON DUTY –  The Badgers have allowed just three goals through four games this season, never conceding more than one per match. Sophomore goalkeeper Matisse Hébert has kept the space between the posts on lockdown, posting a 0.813 save percentage through the first four games. Hébert has made multiple highlight-reel saves, keeping the Badgers with a chance to win in every contest.

3 – MUNS DELIVERS – Graduate student transfer Bart Muns has made his presence known through four games with Wisconsin. He currently leads the team in both goals (3) and points (6). Muns scored twice in the Badgers' win over Bradley, but perhaps even more impactful was his game-winning goal against Western Michigan last Friday. The goal came in the 69th minute of a scoreless match when Muns redirected a pass from Markie Hrvojevic

4 – RUFFLE THE FEATHERS – Wisconsin holds a 24-16-8 all-time record against Marquette. The teams met most recently last season, when the Badgers completed a 2-1 comeback win to improve to 4-0 on the year. The Golden Eagles posted a 6-7-4 record during the 2024 season and were selected to finish fourth in the Midwest Division of the Big East Preseason Poll. Marquette's Mateo Stoka earned Offensive Player of the Week in the Aug. 25 Big East weekly honors and Mitchell Dryden earned Weekly Honor Roll for his efforts over the last week.

5 –  HOW TO FOLLOW – UW's men's soccer team will travel east on I-94 to Valley Fields in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
