
McNaughton gathers second straight WCHA weekly honor

Junior collects third Goaltender of the Week award
MADISON, Wis -- After securing the majority of points in its series against No. 8 Minnesota Duluth, Wisconsin's Ava McNaughton was awarded WCHA Goaltender of the Week, the organization announced on Monday.Â
This is the junior's third time receiving the honor this year, and the second consecutive in which she was eligible to win.
This past weekend, McNaughton played all 125:00 minutes in net against the Bulldogs, allowing just one goal in each game.. She made 25 saves in game one, including the last 23 in a row, and 16 in game two where Wisconsin won 5-1.

The last time Wisconsin played before Duluth was the first week of December, where McNaughton also won Goaltender of the Week after her 60-save, two goals-allowed series against No. 2 Ohio State.
The Seven Fields, Pennsylvania native will represent the United States at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in February. She is the second-youngest player on Team USA, and one of three goaltenders.
McNaughton and the rest of the Badgers faceoff at St. Thomas this week on both Friday and Saturday, with each game beginning at 2 p.m. CT.Â
