Badgers complete the sweep
MADISON, Wis. — The No. 15 Wisconsin women's swim and dive teams wrapped up the first day of competition at the Badger Invitational with a sweep in all events.
How it happened:
Wisconsin put up a strong showing in the relay events, taking first and second in the 200 medley. The Wisconsin A team, bookended by the Wanezek sisters, touched the wall first in 1:36.17, just under a second shy of the crew's personal best this season.
Maggie Wanezek and Hailey Tierney picked up a one-two finish in the 50 free, coming in at 22.18 and 22.28, respectively. Both times mark top-10 all-time performances at UW in the event.
Six other Badgers picked up first-place finishes on the day. Senior Blair Stoneburg checked in at 4:39.60 in the 500 free as a duo of freshman Lily Van Heel and Arianna Zelen won their respective events, the 100 fly and 100 breast.
Junior Ryane Neal swept the diving events, taking home first place on the 1-meter with 308.33 points and first on the 3-meter with 337.43 points. Both scores mark a second-best all-time performance at UW in their respective events. Vivian Kinnard and Julia Herring also broke into the top-10 list on the 3-meter. Kinnard's 320.70 performance marks a fourth-best all-time score and Herring's 296.10 points is ninth-best at UW.

Wisconsin returns for day two of the Badger Invitational on Feb. 7. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m., and finals will take place at 5 p.m.
