Klipstine named to Cambridge eight for The Boat Race

2025 Wisconsin graduate first Badger to take part since 2022
LONDON – Former Wisconsin men's rower Will Klipstine will take part in The CHANEL J12 Boat Race 2006 on April 4 that runs on the River Thames in London, it was unveiled on Thursday.
The race between Klipstine's Cambridge squad and Oxford takes place over 4.25 miles.
A 2025 Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) First-Team All-American and Badger team captain, Klipstine is also a two-time winner of the team's Norman R. Sonju Award for his outstanding contribution to UW crew in leadership, dedication and sportsmanlike attitude.
Klipstine rowed four seat last year in UW's varsity eight and stroked the eight his junior year in 2024. He also stroked the U.S. Under 23 Men's Four at the 2024 U23 World Championships in St. Catherines, Ontario.
A Middleton, Wisconsin, native, Klipstine earned a degree in mechanical engineering at Wisconsin and currently studies energy technologies at Cambridge.
Klipstine will become the first Badger since 2022 to compete in The Boat Race.
