UW struggles in game two in California
LOS ANGELES - The Wisconsin softball team fell in game two of the weekend versus No. 8/7 UCLA in five innings, losing 8-0 on Saturday night at Easton Stadium.Â
The Bruins (20-3, 2-0 B1G) posted four runs in both the first and second inning, turning in a three-run home run in each frame. UCLA's Jordan Woolery continued to shine in the series, blasting her third long ball in two days to make it 8-0 after two innings of play.Â
Sophomore Kendra Lewis came on in relief, holding the Bruins scoreless over the final 2.2 innings in the circle—tallying three strikeouts. Unfortunately for the Badgers (14-9, 0-2 B1G), it was not enough, as UCLA's Taylor Tinsley silenced the UW bats for five innings to secure the shutout victory. Tinsley allowed just two hits, one each from Emily Bojan and Lewis.

Batting Cleanup:
- Emily Bojan has now reached base in every game this season, extending her on-base streak to 23. The Chicago native surpasses Kayla Konwent and holds the fifth-longest streak in program history. 23 games is the second-longest streak to open a season in UW history as well, where Kelsey Jenkins holds the all-time record at 40 consecutive games.Â
- Kendra Lewis tossed 2.2 scoreless innings of relief for the Badgers, striking out three batters. The sophomore finished 1-for-2 at the plate, too.Â
- UCLA's Taylor Tinsley is the first pitcher to hold the Badgers to zero runs this year. The last team to shut out UW was Omaha on Feb. 14, 2025.Â
