Saleh leads Badgers on Friday with win in Champaign
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. and CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Wisconsin women's track and field junior Kylah Saleh won her first heptathlon of the season with 5071 points at the Illini Deca-Jam, while a pair of distance runners finished top-10 at the Platteville Invitational on Friday April 10th.Â
 The junior opened the daywith a mark of 18 feet, 1 ¾ inches (5.53m) in the long jump and throwing her personal best in the javelin throw with a launch of 97-7 (29.76m). The Waunakee native finished the day at 2:31.40 in the 800 meters.
In Platteville, sophomore Liv Phillips led the Badgers in the 5000 meters, finishing in 16 minutes, 34.10 seconds, good for fourth. Zaira Malloy Salgado finished in seventh, crossing the  line at 16:50.66. Myra Stray and Annika Cutforth finished things off for Wisconsin, finishing in 11th and 12th at 16:56.53 and 16:58.04, respectively.Â
Up Next: Two Badgers will close out the weekend for Wisconsin, with Maggie Munsom competing in the 3000 meter steeplechase and Emma Kruse in the 800 meters and 1500 meters at the Platteville Invitational. The action is set to begin at 11:45 a.m. CT. Live results can be found here.Â
