Badgers open weekend with strong performances at Pacific Coast Invitational
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Wisconsin men's track and field team opened competition in California at the Pacific Coast Invitational on Thursday, highlighted by Joshua Onwunili's win the 100 meters.
Onwunili won the 100 meters in a time of 10.13 seconds, marking the No. 4 fastest wind-aided performance in Wisconsin history.
In the 400 meters, Zion Omotesa paced Wisconsin with a fifth-place finish in 47.76, while Farraj Al Amin placed 22nd in 48.78 and Lorenz Forsmann finished 25th in 48.97. Forsman also competed in the 200 meters, finishing 48th in 22.14.
In the field events, Kyle Clabough led the Badgers with an 11th-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 56 feet, 3 ¼ inches (17.15 meters). Jake Schafer added a throw of 164 feet, 4 inches (50.09 meters) in the discus.
