Five Things to Know: Badgers Set for Drake, Penn Relays

Wisconsin heads to two of the nation’s premier meets
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's track and field team travels to compete at the Drake Relays and the Penn Relays from April 24-25.

1. 800 EXCELLENCE: At the Bryan Clay Invitational, Patrick Hilby delivered one of the fastest races in school history, placing sixth in the elite section with a time of 1 minute, 46.03 seconds. The mark moves Hilby to No. 3 all-time at Wisconsin. In the invitational section, Henry Risser finished sixth in 1:47.68, a time that ranks No. 10 in program history.
2. FANTASTIC 5000: Matan Ivri finished eighth in Heat 1 of the invite section of the 5000 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational with a personal-best time of 13:23.11. The performance moves Ivri to No. 7 all-time at Wisconsin and No. 3 in Israeli history. In Heat 2, Johnny Livingstnoe and Christian de Vaal recorded times of 13:59.10 and 14:15.00, respectively. Liam Newhart capped the event by winning the third section with a time of 13:40.60.
3. SO CAL SPEED: At the Pacific Coast Invite, Joshua Onwunili won the 100 meters in 10.13 seconds, marking the No. 4 fastest wind-aided time in school history. He followed that performance with a victory in the 200 meters at the Beach Invite, clocking 20.46, the fastest wind-aided mark in program history.
4. LOOKING BACK: At last year's Penn Relays, Wisconsin turned in historic relay performances at Franklin Field. The distance medley relay team of Newhart, Jalen Williams, Andrew Casey and Adam Spencer finished eighth in 9:32.56, the second-fastest outdoor time in school history. The spring medley relay team of Gio Wearing, Williams, Casey and Hilby broke a 53-year-old school record with a time of 3:16.69, finishing fourth overall and narrowly missing third place by .01 seconds.
5. UP NEXT: The Badgers return home to host the Badger Challenge on May 1 at 12 p.m. to close out the regular season.
