Hadley Lucas wins discus
PHILADELPHIA – The Wisconsin women's track and field team had a successful second day at the Penn Relays and strong first day at the Drake Relays with Hadley Lucas winning discus.
At Penn, the Badger quartet of Catalina Sanchious, Luciana Aizpurua, Rachel Robinson, Sydney Robinson just missed a season-best in the 4x100 relay, crossing the line in 45.68 seconds.
The quartet came back and ran the fastest time in school history in the 4x200 meters, finishing 14th overall in 1:38.52. It marked the second time ever the Badgers have competed in the event
Down is Des Moines, Taylor Kesner placed third in the championship discus with a mark of 179-11 (54.84m), followed by Zonica Lindeque, who placed fifth with a mark of 171-10 (52.37m).
In the University discus, UW went 1-2. Hadley Lucas won the event with a toss of 161-11 (49.35m), and Vasiliki Samolada finished close behind in second at 161-10 (49.34m)
The day concluded with highlights from the shot put championship, where Danni Langseth was runner-up with a toss of 54-8 3/4 (16.68m). Lucas trailed, placing fifth with a mark of 52-1 3/4 (15.89m).
Up Next: The Badgers will finish off their relay weekends tomorrow, starting at 12:30 p.m. CT with the throwers competing in the Javelin and hammer throw down at the Drake Relays.
