
Saleh leads the Heptathlon after Day One in Champaign

Kyla Saleh sweeps with wins in every event
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Wisconsin women's track and field junior Kyla Saleh leads the Heptathlon after Day 1 at the Illini Deca-Jam on Thursday at the Demirjian Park in Champaign. Saleh won all four events she competed in: shot put, high jump, the 100-meter hurdles and 200 meters. Â
The Waunakee-native kicked off the day, winning the 100-meter hurdles in 14.52 seconds and the 200 meters in 25.99.
In the circle, she threw her personal best in shot put with a heave of 39 feet, 1 ¾ inches (11.93m). Her momentum continued in the high jump, with a mark of 5 feet, 7 inches (1.70m).Â
