Team Black wins intrasquad with 617 points

MADISON, Wis. — The No. 22 Wisconsin men's swim and dive team opened their season with a Team Red vs. Team Black intrasquad meet at home on Friday afternoon. Team Black won with 617 points over Team Red with 596.

TEAM BLACK

Sophomore Enzo Solitario was a standout for the team, earning first-place in the 150 butterfly (1:15.48), the 50 butterfly (21.60) and the 200 full-team freestyle (1:34.67) to close the meet.

Benjamin Cescon, a freshman with the Badgers, placed first in the 150 breaststroke (1:26.29). He also earned third in the 50 breaststroke (26.00).

Sophomore swimmer Adam Graham earned second-place in the 150 backstroke (1:16.72) and the 50 backstroke (23.24).

Diver Jacob Pollina placed second in the 1 meter (141.60).

TEAM RED

Junior Landon Kyser earned Team Red a pair of wins, placing first in the 150 backstroke (1:16.01) and the 50 backstroke (21.63).

Yoav Romano won the 600 freestyle (5:24.68) and the 400 freestyle (3:28.96). He also placed third in the 200 freestyle (1:36.20).

Senior Luukas Vainio earned first-place in the 150 freestyle (1:08.61) and second in both the 50 freestyle (20.69) and the 200 freestyle (1:24.79)

Divers Lucas Daniels and Alvaro Santos-Ramos earned first (154.20) and third place (87.07) respectively in the 1 meter.

The Badgers will host Notre Dame at home on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 12pm.
