Ethan Armstrong has returned to his alma mater and is in his first season as a graduate assistant at Wisconsin, working with the Badgers’ linebackers.
Armstrong, who started his career at UW as a walk-on before earning a scholarship as a junior, started all 27 games over his final two seasons and helped Wisconsin claim Big Ten titles in 2011 and 2012.
He was presented the Jay Seiler Coaches Appreciation Award as a junior in 2012 and then was named the Badgers’ Comeback Player of the Year as a senior in 2013 after working his way back from a series of injuries over the previous two seasons and making the move from inside linebacker to outside linebacker.
A native of Ottawa, Illinois, Armstrong finished with 187 tackles, 11.5 TFLs and 3.0 sacks in 52 career games (29 starts). He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from UW in 2013.
