He finished fourth at the Minnesota Class AA state cross country meet as a senior in 15:33.00 and also placed 10th at the 2013 Nike Cross Nationals Heartland Regional in 15:42.60 ... placed fifth in the 3200 meters (9:02.58) and sixth in the 1600 meters (4:14.67) at the Minnesota state meet ... finished 20th at the 2012 state cross country meet as a junior in 15:57.70 ... played three years of varsity soccer and was team captain his senior year.

Parents are Marty and Char McDermott ... has one sister, Marinna ... was a member of the National Honor Society ... loves outdoor sports such as fishing, hunting and snowmobiling ... majoring in civil engineering
