Biography

2015-16 (Senior): Competed with the third varsity eight numerous times, helping the boat to a first place finish in the petite final at the IRA National Championships and sixth place at the Eastern Sprints... also placed first at Syracuse, and second at Boston and Northeastern with the third varsity eight... rowed the varsity eight to a third place finish at the Devil's Lake Dual... placed first at the Stanford Invite with the second varsity eight... raced with the second varsity eight and the fours at the Princeton Chase during the fall.

2012-13 (Freshman): Rowed sixth seat for the first novice eight boat and third seat for the second novice four boat that both earned victories over Minnesota and Milwaukee School of Engineering in a meet during the spring racing season of 2013.

High School: Rowed for four years...finished in first place in the 4+ at both the Texas Rowing Championships and the Central Region Championships his senior year...finished in 17th place overall at the U.S. Rowing Youth Nationals his senior year...also during his senior year, took 17th overall and the Head of the Charles Regatta in the 4+.

Personal: Parents are Robert and Nancy...siblings include sister, Katie, and brother, Dan...cousin, Desiree Wickwar, plays volleyball for Westminster College...intended majorsare pre-business marketing and real estate.

Reason for choosing UW-Madison: Not only did I come to Wisconsin for the excellent rowing opportunity, but I was also driven by the spirited community and elite academic programs. There is a tight-knit bond between students at UW-Madison that is very unique. Everyone here is proud to be a Badger.

What Wisconsin Rowing means to you: Working hard. As a rower at Wisconsin, I'm up early to row every morning, no matter what, no excuses. Cold or snowy weather, tired or not feeling well, it doesn't matter. My teammates are counting on me. That is the level of discipline and commitment you have to live by.
