Trask on Masbruch: "Alex joins us from FC Wisconsin, where he's been the central hub of their Academy team for the past few years. He can play in many different spots and I know our older players will be excited to have him as a part of the program. Coach Tiemeyer and former assistant coach (Phil) Presser, along with the staff at FC Wisconsin, have done an outstanding job preparing Alex for college soccer, but more importantly for the Big Ten Conference. Alex brings a great blend of technique, focus, discipline, leadership and the hallmarks of a big-time soccer player. I know Alex will be a leader of this program in the future and I'm really looking forward to shaping and molding him into the player we expect him to be."

Tiemeyer on Masbruch: "Alex is a Big Ten soccer player. He is solid on the ball and a strong ball winner. He is very competitive, passionate and physically prepared. Alex has the ability to play in multiple positions while at Wisconsin due to his personality and technique."

Why Wisconsin? "After considerable research, with respect to the engineering programs offered throughout the various Wisconsin universities, I chose the University of Wisconsin for two reasons. First, the outstanding reputation the University of Wisconsin possesses, combined with the exceptional reviews I've received from recent graduates. Secondly, attending the University of Wisconsin will provide me the opportunity to pursue another life dream, playing soccer at the collegiate level. Soccer has always been a passion of mine, and I am thrilled with the opportunity of playing for Coach (John) Trask and representing the University of Wisconsin Badgers men's soccer team."
