Reason for choosing UW-Madison: I grew up in London, England with an English mother and an American father. Once we moved to Seattle, Washington when I was 12, I wanted to have the full American experience. My father is from Michigan and I have many relatives in Michigan and Illinois, so I really wanted to return to the Midwest and go to college at a Big Ten school, just like him. UW-Madison has everything I could ever want in a university. It has a great computer science program, an amazing school community with many volunteer opportunities, and of course a brilliant athletic program where I could continue to be on the rowing team.

What Wisconsin Rowing means to you: Wisconsin Rowing means so much more to me than just competing. Since starting crew my freshman year of high school, I can't imagine life without it. My team is my family. I love competing and I love the feeling sitting at the starting live of a race with your teammates, ready to go, knowing that each person in the boat has trained just as hard as you have and everyone is ready to row together. I love the feeling of community in Wisconsin Rowing. When I took my official visit I knew that this was the team for me. Everyone supports each other through everything and that is what is the most important in the end.
