Derek Drew, a former SIU-Edwardsville track and field athlete, is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin.
Drew previously spent time coaching with the Aurora Flyers Track Club.
A native of Aurora, Illinois, Drew attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville from 2013-2016. As a Cougar, Drew was a 12-time All Ohio Valley Conference honoree. During his senior season he was conference champion in the 4x400 relay and the 400-meter hurdles. He also was a 2016 NCAA West Region qualifier in the 400 hurdles.
A transfer from Northern Iowa University, Drew competed for the Panthers during the 2011-12 season.
