Scored a third-period goal in Wisconsin’s 5-2 win over Michigan on Feb. 17, roofing a behind-the-back pass from Aidan Cavallini ... assisted Cavallini’s goal against Michigan on Dec. 9, going plus-2 on the contest ... recorded two shots on four occasions ... finished the season with 14 shots on goal 

2015–16/ Freshman Season
Scored his first career goal in Wisconsin’s 4-3 win over Alaska on Jan. 29 ... tallied an assist in both of UW’s games at Michigan, Dec. 4-5 ... finished the season with a goal and four assists, as well as four blocks

Before Zirbel was a Badger
Skated 2014–15 with the USHL’s Madison Capitols under former UW associate head coach Luke Strand ... had seven goals and 13 points in 51 games for Madison after making the team in summer tryouts ... won team’s hardest worker award ... two-time team captain at Notre Dame Academy ... posted 11 goals and 32 points in 28 games as a senior in 2013–14 ... had an assist in 2012 Wisconsin Boys’ Hockey State Championship game as Notre Dame Academy won the title with a 3-2 victory over Wausau West ... former Badger teammate Tim Davison was also on that team ... also part of state champion lacrosse team
