Men's Cross Country Dominates Jim Drews Invitational

The fourth-ranked Wisconsin men's cross country team swept the top three individual places to run away with the title at the 33-team Jim Drews Invitational, hosted by UW-LaCrosse.
The Badgers scored 41 points to finish 49 points ahead of second-place UW-LaCrosse. UW-Oshkosh scored 92 points to finish a close third.
Redshirt freshman Matt Tegenkamp won the Badger sprint to the finish, edging teammates Isaiah Festa and Josh Spiker to win the 8000-meter race. Tegenkamp won in 25:04.4, while junior Festa was second in 25:04.6 and redshirt freshman Spiker finished third in 25:04.9. Freshman Colin Steele finished eighth overall in 25:36.2 and junior Sam Jackson was 27th in 26:05.3.
Next up for Wisconsin is defending its Big Ten Conference Championship on Sunday, Oct. 28 in Champaign, Ill. The Badgers are the two-time defending team champions and have won the last three individual titles.
