Men's Cross Country Wins Roy Griak Invitational

The Wisconsin men's cross country team won the Roy Griak Invitational with 129 points and three top-10 finishes Saturday.
Badger freshman Matt Tegenkamp claimed the 8000-meter individual title in 23:58, while teammate Josh Spiker placed fourth in 24:17. Junior Isaiah Festa placed eighth in 24:23 only seconds behind his Badger teammates.
Sophomore Drew Hohensee edged out the competition for 39th place for a time of 24:54. Joe Eckerly finished 77th in 25:12 and Colin Steele finished 166th in 25:48 for Wisconsin.
The Badgers, ranked sixth last week by the Mondo Men's Cross Country Poll, beat fourth-ranked Providence, 13th-ranked Portland and several Big Ten opponents for the invitational team title.
