Eaves Family to Square Off in Boston
October 25, 2002 | Men's Hockey
Not only will Coach Mike Eaves be facing the fourth-ranked Boston College Eagles on Friday night, but he will be facing his own flesh and blood. Eaves' sons, Ben and Patrick, play for the Eagles.
Ben, a junior captain, is second on the team with seven points in the first four games while his younger brother, Patrick, a freshman, leads the team and ranks fifth nationally with nine points. The two play on a line together and have led Boston College to a 3-1-0 record.
'We are going into this weekend not thinking about the Eaves boys, but a heck of Boston College team,' Coach Eaves stated. Nationally, the Eagles have the third-highest scoring offense and the second-best power play. B.C. has converted nine of 24 chances (37.5 percent) this season.
After playing at Boston College on Friday night, the Badgers will play at Northeastern (1-1-1) on Saturday. Wisconsin opens its WCHA season on Nov. 1-2 against the defending league champion Denver Pioneers at the Kohl Center.
