The Outland Trophy is presented annually by the FWAA and is awarded to the top interior lineman (offense or defense) in college football.
Al Johnson is the Badgers' starting center, while Ben is the team's starting left tackle. Both players have been named to the 2002 Lombardi Award (top lineman in college football) watch list, as well.
The winner of the Outland Trophy will be announced on Dec. 12 at the ESPN College Football Awards Show in Orlando, Fla. Three finalists will be selected by the FWAA All-America Committee in late November and will appear on the show.
The Outland Trophy has been presented each year since 1946. It is named after the late John Outland, an All-America lineman at Penn at the turn of the 20th century.
