Leonhard, Evans Earn All-America Mention
December 11, 2003 | Football
Junior free safety Jim Leonhard and senior wide receiver Lee Evans have each earned All-America mention this week.
Leonhard was named a first-team All-America safety by ESPN.com. That team was chosen by Ivan Maisel, who covers college football for the popular web site. Evans earned honorable mention All-America status from SI.com.
Leonhard, who leads the Big Ten with six interceptions, and Evans, who leads the conference in receiving yards with 1,162, both have been first-team All-Americans previously in their UW careers.
The Badgers return to practice this weekend as they prepare to face Auburn in the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl on Dec. 31 in Nashville, Tenn.
