The Wisconsin football team climbed one spot in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll and stood pat in the Associated Press poll as the Badgers are now ranked No. 6 according to both outlets.
A 24-12 victory over Northwestern Saturday helped UW raise its season record to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the Big Ten.
The top 10 remained unchanged in the AP rankings. The only change among the 10 highest ranked teams in the coaches poll came when Wisconsin traded spots with 6-1 Georgia.
USC continues to be ranked No. 1 in both polls.
The Badgers are the highest-ranked Big Ten team for the second straight week. Michigan remained No. 11 in the coaches poll and moved up one spot in the AP poll to No. 12 following its win at Purdue. The Boilermakers were 12th in both polls but dropped to 17th according to the AP and 19th according to the coaches.
Minnesota, UW's next opponent, climbed back into the rankings at No. 23/24 (coaches/AP). Iowa jumped two spots up to No. 23 in the AP poll and went from unranked to No. 24 in the coaches' opinion. Ohio State is receiving votes in both polls, while Michigan State is getting consideration from the media.
Wisconsin is off until Nov. 6 when it plays host to the Golden Gophers.
