Former Badger Working at Smithsonian

Former Badger tight end Mike Solwold has embarked on what should be an historic summer.
Solwold, who lettered at Wisconsin in 1997, 1999 and 2000, has started a summer internship with the National Museum of American History at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. According to NFL.com, the internship will 'focus on preparing the traveling exhibition Sports: Breaking Records, Breaking Barriers, an exhibit surrounding those athletes who have changed society through off-the-field efforts and changed their sport by virtue of their performance.'
Solwold, a history major at UW who is currently with the Baltimore Ravens, told NFL.com: 'The Smithsonian is second to none in the world, as far as museums go. To be a part of that is exciting, and I'm happy that everything worked out. Obviously, my main focus is on football and the Ravens, but I'm thankful they were able to facilitate this internship to encourage my interests off the field."
The internship will end in mid-July prior to the Ravens' training camp.
