Following his five-touchdown performance against Illinois, University of Wisconsin running back Brian Calhoun has been named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the Conference office announced.
Calhoun's five rushing TDs tied a school record that he already matched in the first game of the season. He carried the ball 35 times for 197 yards last Saturday, giving him seven 100-yard rushing performances this season.
His 46-yard touchdown run from the first play of scrimmage in the fourth quarter sealed the 41-24 victory over the Fighting Illini. For the season, Calhoun has 21 touchdowns, including 19 on the ground.
Calhoun, who also was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 5 for scoring five touchdowns against Bowling Green, shares this honor with Ohio State tailback Antonio Pittman.
