April 24, 2005 | Football
Offensive guard Dan Buenning was chosen in the fourth round (107th pick overall) of the National Football League draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday morning.
Buenning started 49 of a possible 51 games during his Badger career, including the last 36 in a row. Only offensive linemen Chris McIntosh and Bill Ferrario (50 starts apiece) started more games than Buenning in the Alvarez era.
A four-year letterwinner and team captain last season, Buenning was a first-team All-America choice of Pro Football Weekly and second-team All-American according to the Associated Press in 2004. He also was a consensus first-team All-Big Ten selection.
Buenning is the eighth Badger offensive lineman to be selected in the past seven NFL drafts.
