
Slusar Added to Canadian Roster

Wisconsin senior defender Bobbi-Jo Slusar has been added to the Canadian National Women 's Team roster for the upcoming Four Nations Cup in Kitchener, Ontario, Hockey Canada announced on Thursday.
Slusar (Swift Current, Saskatchewan) will make her senior-level international debut at the event, which runs from Nov. 7-11 at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. She will join former Badger and current UW undergraduate assistant Carla MacLeod on the Canadian squad.
Wisconsin teammates Jinelle Zaugg (Eagle River, Wis.) and Erika Lawler (Fitchburg, Mass.) will represent the United States in the competition, along with head coach Mark Johnson, who will guide Team USA.
Slusar was the WCHA Defensive Player of the Year in 2005-06, helping the Badgers to their first national championship. She was also a top-10 finalist for the 2005-06 Patty Kazmaier Award, given to the top women's player in U.S. college hockey. She has 66 points in 107 career games with the Badgers, and has been named team captain for the 2006-07 season.
Slusar has also appeared in 17 games with Canada's National Women's Under-22 Team from 2003-06, picking up four points (2 goals, 2 assists).
