Eight Badgers selected to participate in 2026 Collegiate Select Series

UW finds representation on both U.S. and Canada rosters
MADISON, Wis. — Eight Wisconsin women's hockey players have been selected to participate in the 2026 Collegiate Select Series featuring a three-game matchup between the U.S. and Canada from August 12-15.
Kelly Gorbatenko, Cassie Hall, Ava McNaughton, Laney Potter and Maggie Scannell will represent Team USA for the series, while Ava Murphy, Rosalie Tremblay and Emma Venusio will don the red and white for Team Canada.Â
The series, which features the best collegiate women's hockey players from the U.S. and Canada, will take place on August 12, 13 and 15 in Richmond, B.C.
Hall and Potter join the U.S. Collegiate Select Team for the third time, while Gorbatenko and Scannell each earned a spot on the team for the second year in a row. McNaughton will join the roster for the first time after previously representing Team USA for the 2026 Olympics.Â
For Canada, four-year National Women's Development Team veteran Murphy joins fellow defender Venusio in her third year on the team. Freshman Tremblay will make her debut after spending two years with the National Women's Under-18 Team.Â
Puck drop for the first game of the series is slated for 9 p.m. CT on Wednesday, August 12, at the Richmond Olympic Oval.Â
