Following his record-setting day in punting, University of Wisconsin junior Ken DeBauche was tabbed as Big Ten Special Teams Co-Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
In Saturday's game against Michigan, DeBauche set a UW record with 514 total punting yards, breaking the previous mark of 500 by Brad Brekke (vs. Miami on Sept. 9, 1989). That total also was the 10th best in conference history.
The Suamico, Wis., native also notched a career-high in punts, booting 11 for an average of 46.7 yards. Those 11 punts were one shy of a school record.
DeBauche, who matched his season long with a 57-yard punt in the third quarter, shares his second career award with punter Jeremy Kapinos of Penn State.
