
Men's Cross Country Travels to Oregon

After a week off, the No.1-ranked Wisconsin men's cross country team returns to action Saturday at the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Eugene, Ore. The 8,000-meter event is hosted by the University of Oregon and is slated to begin at 10:15 a.m. at Springfield Country Club.
The Badgers will send 12 runners to compete, including nine runners who took part in the Pioneer Invitational Sept. 15 at Minooka Park in Waukesha, Wis. Traveling for the Badgers will be Brandon Bethke (Lake Forest, Calif.), Jack Bolas (Chapel Hill, N.C.), Ryan Craven (Mount Prospect, Ill.), Ryan Gasper (Fort Atkinson, Wis.), Andrew Lacy (McFarland, Wis.), Craig Miller (Lancaster, Pa.) Landon Peacock (Morley, Mich.), David Pede (Deerfield, Wis.), Tim Pierie (Mokena, Ill.), Noah Shannon (Fort Collins, Colo.), Christian Wagner (Columbus, Ind.) and Matt Withrow (Tinley Park, Ill.).
The 15-team men's field will feature three of the top six ranked teams in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll (USTFCCCA) ' in the form of No.1 Wisconsin, No. 3 Oregon and No. 6 UTEP.
Five other teams rank top 30 nationally including No. 11 Portland, No. 17 Alabama, No. 21 UCLA, No. 22 Cal Poly and No. 30 Washington.
The Badgers are coming off their second straight Pioneer Invitational win two weeks ago. UW recorded a perfect score of 15 points and swept the top-nine spots, placing all 10 of its runners among the top-12 finishers.
