
Wisconsin Heads to Las Vegas

The UW football team is making the trip to Las Vegas, Nev. to play UNLV Saturday Sept. 8 at Sam Boyd Stadium. The game will be shown live on the Versus cable channel at 9:00 p.m. CT. Saturday night's game will be UNLV's 2007 home-opener.
The Badgers and Rebels will be meeting for the eighth time, with Wisconsin leading the all-time series 5-2-0, including two of the three meetings in Las Vegas. Wisconsin has outscored UNLV 187-97 in the seven match-ups, including 175-57 in the five victories.
The last time the two met, Wisconsin came out on top with an 18-3 win on Sept. 11, 2004 at Camp Randall Stadium. The last time the Badgers played at Sam Boyd Stadium, in 2002, UW won 27-7 when the game was called with 7:41 left in the fourth quarter after the stadium lights went out.
Badgers interim WR coach, DelVaughn Alexander was the WR and QB coach at UNLV from 2000-02. UNLV head coach, Mike Sanford, a USC graduate, is in his third season coaching the Rebels.
The Badgers are looking for a little revenge after UNLV upset the 6th-ranked Badger men 's basketball team in the second round in the 2007 NCAA Tournament.
